Prince’s Trust Golf day and Gala dinner

Friday 11th November

A Golf day and Gala dinner hosted by Mander Duffill raises over £8,000 for The Princes Trust.

Prince's Trust

The sun shone on the Bowood Golf course when 64 guests teamed up to battle it out on stableford rules for a trophy, champagne and of course, bragging rights. The winners of the day were Nick Hughes, Richard Hathaway, Aidie Kinder and Pat Carty, with Richard Hathaway achieving the highest individual score of the day which contributed to his team’s victory.

Over 160 people attended the Black Tie gala dinner in the evening. After a Remembrance Silence, and an incredibly moving insight into the work of The Princes Trust by Natalie, a beneficiary of the Trust’s work, Tim Weeks from Wessex Auction Rooms and the BBC’s ‘Street Auction’ accelerated the fundraising efforts with an auction.  With some amazing lots, from tickets to next year’s British Grand Prix, signed Premiership football memorabilia and a holiday, to some cheese and a text book, the bidding was frenzied and fun, with many happy winners at the end of the auction.

The overall winner was however the Princes Trust, with in excess of £8,000 raised on the day.

Julian Duffill, Managing Partner at Mander Duffill said; “We are delighted to be able to raise money for and support the Princes Trust who are in their 40th anniversary year of helping young people turn their lives around.  Today was a great combination of fun, competition and fundraising which wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity and support of local businesses.”

Thanks to Mander Duffill who organised such an enjoyable and successful day and the local businesses and individuals who contributed auction and raffle donations.
