Richard Mander FCA
Richard Mander joined Mander Duffill in 1993 and swiftly moved on to become a partner in 1995. Prior to joining Mander Duffill, Richard worked for a top 10 firm of accountants in Bristol. Richard is a qualified Chartered Accountant and specialises in taxation. He works predominantly with family owned businesses, aiming to help them grow and expand through a close working relationship. Richard trained as a musician and continues to play now and then – usually when there is no one in earshot! As well as music and the arts, he takes a great interest in rugby, cricket, current affairs and economics.
Julian Duffill FCA
Julian Duffill joined Mander Duffill in 1998 after graduating from university in Bristol. Julian trained as a Chartered Accountant at Mander Duffill and became a partner in 2004. He advises small and medium sized businesses on accounting and taxation matters, as well as being our audit compliance principal and managing partner. He enjoys providing a professional service and believes in offering real value and benefits, balancing the cost of advice to clients with the benefits they receive. Julian is a helpful, approachable and highly motivated professional who enjoys family life and has a keen interest in sport.
Andy Davis FCA
Andy Davis joined Mander Duffill in 2006 as a trainee accountant. He studied for his AAT and ACA at Mander Duffill and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2011. He progressed to become a Client Manager in September 2013 and a Client Partner in July 2015. Andy specialises in working with owner managed businesses and seeks to ensure his clients receive a high level of service in all areas of accountancy, taxation and general business advice. Andy’s other interests are mainly sports, which include playing competitive cricket and football as well as other sports socially.
Mike Ward FCCA
Mike Ward joined Mander Duffill in February 2001 as a trainee accountant. He studied for his ACCA at Mander Duffill and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2005, achieving Fellowship status in 2010. Mike has a wealth of experience in advising owner managed businesses on accounting and taxation matters. He also has experience in audit, compliance and company secretarial matters, enabling him to ensure clients receive a high level of service in all areas. Outside of the office, Mike continues to play football for his village team and competes in the local boule league.
Client Associate Director
Lydia Carver joined Mander Duffill in 2007 after studying Accounting and Finance at the University of Exeter. Starting in the accounts team, Lydia became a Client Manager in 2011, progressing to Client Associate Director in 2019. Lydia is responsible for a portfolio of clients, providing support and advice on a wide range of accounting and taxation matters. She is passionate in ensuring that clients receive the highest possible service in every area of the firm. Outside of the office, Lydia enjoys family life with her young son, socialising with friends and family. When time permits, she will be found spinning!
Keri joined Mander Duffill in 2013 as a Client Manager before becoming a Client Associate in 2019. Keri is responsible for a portfolio of clients, mainly owner-managed businesses, advising on all related business and taxation matters. Keri has a wide range of knowledge, with over 15 years’ experience working in an accounting practice. Outside of work, Keri enjoys exercise and spending time with her family especially her young son.
Paul Dixon ACCA
Paul joined Mander Duffill in 2007 as a trainee accountant. He studied AAT and ACCA at Mander Duffill and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2019. Outside the office, Paul’s interests are mainly watching and playing sports competitively and spending time with his young family.
Sue Giles FCA
Head of Tax
Sue joined Mander Duffill in 2007. Sue studied Accounting & Finance at the University of Exeter, graduating in 1994, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997. During her time at Mander Duffill, Sue has held various roles including Client Manager and Head of Accounts, before becoming Head of Tax in 2018. In addition to overseeing the tax department, Sue is responsible for a portfolio of clients, providing support and advice on personal taxation matters. Outside of the office, Sue enjoys spending time reading, gardening and enjoying the great outdoors with her family!
Nathan Green FCCA
Nathan Green joined Mander Duffill in 2018 as Audit Manager. He qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2001 and has over 20 years’ practice experience working with a diverse range of clients and sectors, building a wealth of knowledge and expertise within audit. Outside of the office, Nathan spends his spare time fishing and being groom for his wife’s driving pony.
Becki Hanlon ACA
Becki joined Mander Duffill in 2017, working in the accounts team and studying for her ACA qualification. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in September 2020, when she progressed to become a Client Manager. Becki is responsible for a portfolio of clients across a range of industries. Outside the office, Becki is an avid gym goer and enjoys socialising with friends.
Kes joined Mander Duffill in November 2019 as a trainee accountant. He studied for his AAT and ACA at Mander Duffill, becoming a Client Manager in 2023. Outside of the office, Kes enjoys playing various sports including tennis and badminton.
Sophie Hobbs ATT CTA
Sophie joined Mander Duffill in 2022. Sophie gained her ATT qualification in 2010 and CTA in 2012 and has been practising tax for 14 years. She specialises in high-net-worth individuals, owner managed businesses and private client individuals. Sophie also completes advisory projects in areas such as personal pension contributions, disclosures to HMRC, capital gains tax and inheritance tax advice and planning. She enjoys socialising with friends and family, reading and swimming – when she is not running around after her two children!
Pippa Kendall CTA
Pippa joined Mander Duffill in 2015 as an Assistant Client Manager, progressing to Client Associate in 2019. Pippa has experience and knowledge in all areas of accountancy and taxation and prides herself in providing excellent service to her clients. In her spare time, Pippa enjoys playing the piano and walking in the local countryside.
Head of Secretarial Team
Gill is the firm’s longest serving member, supporting the partners in her role as secretary. She also heads up both the secretarial and reception teams, ensuring our clients receive a warm welcome and an efficient service. When outside the office, Gill helps with her husband’s smallholding and enjoys socialising with her family and friends. Although she loves walking her dog, cardiovascular exercise would be just one step too far!
Mike Parfitt MCMI
Practice Associate Director
Mike Parfitt joined Mander Duffill in 2011 as Practice Manager, progressing to become Practice Associate Director in 2019. Mike is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day management of the firm and works closely with the Managing Partner to ensure the smooth running of the practice. In his spare time, Mike tries to keep fit, watch as much sport as he can, and enjoy time with his family.
James Salisbury ACA
James joined Mander Duffill in 2018 as a trainee accountant, progressing to his current role as a Client Manager. Qualifying as a Chartered Accountant whilst at Mander Duffill has allowed James to gain invaluable experience of the firm’s practices and full knowledge of its clients, helping to ensure they receive the highest standards of service. Outside of work, James takes full advantage of his proximity to the River Avon to enjoy kayaking and has also recently taken up golf.
Joe Saunders FCCA
Joe joined Mander Duffill in 2014 as a Client Manager. He gained fellowship status of the ACCA in 2016 and progressed to Client Associate in December 2019. In his current role, Joe is responsible for a portfolio for clients, predominantly owner-managed businesses, providing advice and support with their accounting and taxation affairs. Joe particularly enjoys problem solving and building relationships with clients, striving to provide high quality service at all times. Outside the office, Joe enjoys spending time with his family, playing hockey and singing with his local choir.
Management Accounts & Bookkeeping Team Manager
Laura re-joined Mander Duffill in 2019 as Management Accounts and Bookkeeping Team Manager and has over 20 years of bookkeeping and VAT experience. She has a broad range of knowledge and can advise in all areas of bookkeeping, VAT, Import Duty and Domestic Reverse Charge, whilst providing the highest level of service. Laura enjoys spending time with family and friends and trying to keep on top of the garden.
Matthew Taylor ACCA
Matt joined Mander Duffill in 2014, studying with ACCA and qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2017. Outside of work, Matt is a keen Bath Rugby supporter and enjoys spending time with his young family.
Paige Wallace DipPFS Cert CII (MP)
Paige qualified as a Financial Adviser in January 2018, before joining Mander Duffill Financial Services in June 2018. Paige works alongside our partners to advise clients on their pension, protection, investment and estate planning needs. Outside the office, Paige’s interests include socialising with friends and family and getting her nose stuck in a good book.
Steve Warner MCIPP
Steve joined Mander Duffill in 2015 and has over 20 years of payroll experience in both industry and bureau. Having spent time working as an administrator, Steve was promoted to Payroll Manager in 2021. He can advise in all areas of payroll, automatic enrolment and the Construction Industry Scheme, ensuring clients receive the highest level of service. Steve enjoys playing music and working on his ‘to read’ list.
Colin Woodward FCCA
Colin originally joined Mander Duffill in 1997 for 5 years as a trainee accountant. He studied for his ACCA and became qualified in 2003. Colin has experience in auditing, management accounting, personal tax and supporting smaller businesses. With experience working alongside varying sizes of businesses from large FTSE 250 companies to small start-up businesses. Colin re-joined Mander Duffill in 2016 as a Client Manager and became a Client Associate in 2019. He is responsible for a portfolio of clients providing accounting, taxation and business support. Colin endeavours to give a pro-active and approachable service. Outside of work, Colin enjoys most sports – if he is not ploughing up the local golf course, he is running marathons in the UK and abroad.
