Job title Management Accounts and Bookkeeping Clerk
Reports to Practice Manager

Job purpose

The role will involve the production of VAT returns and general bookkeeping for clients on a monthly or quarterly basis. Excellent communication and strong teamwork skills are essential as you will be part of a team.

This is a great opportunity for the successful applicant to develop their bookkeeping skills in a rewarding environment.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Completion of VAT returns for clients, including flat rate, basic rate and cash accounting
  • General bookkeeping for clients, including reconciliation of banks and other ledgers
  • Production of management reports for clients where required
  • Production of year end files for internal accounts team
  • Dealing with queries from clients
  • Attending client premises to complete the above tasks where appropriate

Qualifications and experience

  • AAT qualified or overseas equivalent
  • Ideally having experience within a bookkeeping environment
  • Experience in Xero, Sage Line 50 and Excel

We are a growing company and are seeking to appoint an ambitious STEP qualified solicitor or legal executive with a background in Wills and Trusts planning.

The right candidate will have a strong technical competence in the relevant areas of the law, the confidence to deal with clients at all levels, the ability to work effectively as part of a team but also to work independently, being able to work effectively under pressure, to be organised, enthusiastic and computer literate and to provide excellent client service.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Wills and IHT planning
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney
  • Creation and Administration of Trusts The ideal candidate would therefore need to possess the following skills;
  • Highly Motivated
  • Self-Motivated
  • Proven track record of generating work
  • STEP qualified
  • Providing financial planning and wealth advice to corporate and HNW clients
  • Identifying and contacting potential clients, gathering sufficient information and identifying client needs
  • Adhering to all compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Keeping up-to-date with technical or legislative change within the marketplace
  • Ensuring effective working relationships are built and maintained within the client base

We are a growing company and are seeking to appoint an additional Independent Financial Adviser to expand the business. The role is crucial to the growth strategy within our Life, Pensions and Investment Business, providing truly whole of market independent financial advice whilst working with a long and well established accountancy practice.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Providing financial planning and wealth advice to corporate and HNW clients
  • Identifying and contacting potential clients, gathering sufficient information and identifying client needs
  • Analysing information gathered and undertaking sufficient research to make suitable recommendations
  • Accurately completing all supporting documentation
  • Attaining and maintaining competent status as defined by the FCA and the firm
  • Adhering to all compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Keeping up-to-date with new product, technical or legislative change within the marketplace
  • Ensuring effective working relationships are built and maintained within the client base

Qualifications and experience

Proven success of working in life sales, investment advice, financial planning and wealth advice

  • Full QCF Level 4 qualification or equivalent (e.g. CII Diploma in Financial Planning)
  • SPS and CAS
